RETROSPETIVA / RETROSPECTIVE QUEER PORTO 9:“NO PRESENT. NO FUTURE. NO WAVE.” 🤘🏽A nossa retrospetiva deste ano dedica-se ao movimento No Wave nova-iorquino e contará com um foco especial na obra da cineasta irlandesa Vivienne Dick, que estará presente no Porto. A obra da autora questiona a posição da mulher face às estruturas patriarcais e retrata questões relacionadas com as normas sociais de género. A retrospetiva irá pôr em diálogo o cinema de Dick com filmes de outras cineastas incontornáveis da altura como Bette Gordon e Beth B, e com figuras proeminentes como Nan Goldin ou Lydia Lunch. O programa inclui também "Rome ’78", talvez o manifesto mais seminal do movimento.//Our retrospective this year is dedicated to the New York No Wave movement and will have a special focus on the work of Irish filmmaker Vivienne Dick, who will be present in Porto. Her films question the position of women in the face of patriarchal structures, and portray issues related to social gender norms. The retrospective will bring Dick's cinema into dialogue with films by other unavoidable filmmakers of the time, such as Bette Gordon and Beth B, and with prominent figures such as Nan Goldin or Lydia Lunch.
